I just came back from Vancouver where I presented to a management group of a manufacturing company about what motivates employees today. After my session, the person who brought me in gave me some feedback: "A lot of the people in the group didn't agree with you about what you said about money-they felt it was the top motivator for their people." For the umteenth time, a sense of frustration overcame me. Why is it so difficult for managers and business owners to believe that money is not the main reason why their people work?
